HC is advancing the "OpenCare" project through its innovation arm, InovaHC. This initiative aims to integrate patient data that has historically been fragmented across different medical institutions, solving challenges in emergency care and continuous treatment. The introduction of "OpenCare Interop" adds a second layer of data sharing. It goes beyond mere remote service provision (OpenCare 5G) by enhancing information connectivity itself. This system applies a data-sharing model similar to TED used in the financial sector, receiving funding from B3 (São Paulo Stock Exchange), and involving diverse players such as hospitals, laboratories, insurers, and industries. To balance security and convenience, electronic health record data is shared through AI "tokenization" based on patient consent, utilizing the universal healthcare standard HL7 FHIR. This allows doctors to grasp the entire history of treatment, enabling faster and higher quality care. This model overcomes industry challenges—the need to reconcile data confidentiality with the necessity of disclosure—and is expected to bring about a major transformation toward a patient-centric healthcare system.
