Details

QMetrics is continuing its pivotal role as the official Validator for the National Committee for Quality Assurance's (NCQA) Data Aggregator Validation program. This strategic collaboration between NCQA and QMetrics is designed to streamline quality reporting and reduce administrative burdens by validating clinical data from aggregators and electronic health records (EHRs). The program, launched in Summer 2021, has already seen over 50 organizations across 21 states complete validation, resulting in 137 validations. The arrival of Cohort 11 brings a diverse mix of new and returning participants aiming to achieve validated status for HEDIS® reporting. By validating clinical data streams, the program promotes interoperability and accurate, real-time data exchange. The commitment to continuous improvement is highlighted by the introduction of FHIR standards and a new Provider Portal in earlier cohorts. QMetrics has been instrumental since inception, using its Primary Source Verification (PSV) methodology to evaluate clinical data sources. Organizations benefit not only from enhanced HEDIS® reporting but also use the program as a catalyst for cultural change, focusing on data accuracy and quality. Cohort 11 officially kicks off on January 20, 2026, aligning with the HEDIS® supplemental data submission timeline for Measurement Year 2026. This effort remains the first national attempt to validate clinical data streams shared across EHRs, aggregators, and third-party recipients like health plans, setting a new standard in healthcare data trustworthiness.
