The Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN), in collaboration with HL7 International, invites members to apply for their 'HL7 FHIR Fundamentals Course.' This is an online, self-paced training designed to introduce participants to the FHIR standard and its real-world applications within healthcare. The curriculum covers fundamental concepts such as core principles ('Why FHIR'), resource types, and the underlying architecture of RESTful services. Key technical modules include understanding 'What is a resource?' (types, composition, elements), 'What is REST?', and managing data operations like Create/Update/Delete. Advanced topics delve into complex interoperability concepts such as 'Transactions / Messages / Documents' and the relationship with CDA R2. Furthermore, participants will learn about advanced architectural approaches, including the necessity of profiles, profiling a resource, and defining extensions and constraints. The course is available to registered AeHIN members and specific members from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC). Enrollment requires an application by January 20, 2025.
