Méderi launched the country's first interoperable Unified Medical Record (Historia Clínica Unificada e Interoperable).
Summary
Méderi has launched the country's first unified, interoperable Electronic Health Record (UCR). This system integrates clinical and administrative information in real-time, addressing data fragmentation and enabling high-quality decision support.
Key Players
Details
The Unified Care Record (UCR) implemented by Méderi consolidates data from multiple hospital platforms, including HIS, LIS, and RIS. Built upon international standards such as HL7 v2.x and FHIR, the system centralizes all relevant patient information regardless of its original source. This implementation significantly improves care continuity by allowing healthcare professionals to access validated, timely, and consolidated data without worrying about data silos. Furthermore, the UCR complies with Colombian regulations (Resolución 1888 de 2023), enabling secure and structured information exchange with both public and private entities. Beyond clinical records, the UCR enhances operational efficiency by facilitating cost monitoring through Time Driven Activity-Based Costing (TDABC) and enabling massive audits. Méderi is actively participating in national interoperability pilot programs to further integrate data exchange at a national level.
