I Clinic is developing an electronic health record system based on the international standards openEHR and FHIR to promote digital transformation in Mongolia's healthcare sector. The company held discussions on October 8, 2025, with representatives from the global organization for openEHR and Better, a digital health solutions provider based in the UK. These talks focused on sharing information regarding system development trends in both Mongolian and British medical institutions, and how to properly store, process, and exchange medical data according to international standards. A key focus was creating mechanisms that facilitate data linkage across multiple institutions without requiring additional conversion work. The new system provided by I Clinic meets these international standard requirements and is fully integrated with public systems in Mongolia (such as health insurance, tax, labor/social security). Functionally, it saves time for doctors and nurses. In addition to BI dashboards supporting management decision-making, it includes an eClinic platform allowing patients to book appointments online, conduct telemedicine, and view or download diagnostic results from anywhere. Technologically, the system uses a modular microservice architecture and meets ISO 27001 security standards. Furthermore, by implementing the HL7 FHIR international standard, it is able to elevate data linkage and information flow between healthcare institutions to a new level.
