Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital announced the official start of this major project on August 20, 2025, at its 'Kick-off Meeting.' The initiative is commissioned by the Korea Health and Medical Information Service (KOIHAN). To address environmental differences in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) systems across participating institutions, the consortium plans to define ADR information and enhance data quality. Crucially, the project adopts FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), an internationally recognized standard, which serves as a common language for converting medical data between hospitals. This is expected to allow healthcare providers to immediately check and utilize a patient's adverse drug event history at any point of care. Project leaders stated that the goal is to derive practical and easily understandable results through information sharing. KOIHAN emphasized that building upon these achievements, they aim for public dissemination via the 'My Health Record App,' enhancing field applicability through policy and institutional linkage. The hospital director expressed hope that this process will transform raw ADR data into meaningful clinical information shared with patients, thereby creating a safer healthcare environment. The consortium includes several institutions, coordinating efforts to improve patient safety and interoperability across different medical settings.
