To solve this, NCI is collaborating with partners to lead the way in standardizing how cancer-related data are structured and exchanged within electronic health records (EHRs). Interested parties are encouraged to attend the USCDI + Cancer Clinical Trial Matching track at the 2026 CMS HL7® FHIR® Connectathon on July 14. This initiative is crucial for improving interoperability in healthcare IT, ensuring that clinical data can be reliably collected and exchanged across different systems, thereby enhancing the quality and efficiency of cancer care globally.
