Google has provided a second developer preview for its upcoming Android 16 OS. The update includes significant advancements in system capabilities, particularly concerning health management. Key developments include major enhancements to Health Connect, which now supports FHIR format for medical record support. Furthermore, the introduction of the ACTIVITY_INTENSITY data type allows for more detailed tracking of activity levels—a critical development for developers building wearable and healthcare applications. Other technical improvements mentioned are the addition of `getStartComponent()` for optimizing app startup flows, improved haptic APIs allowing customization of tactile feedback, and enhanced accessibility by deprecating disruptive announcements.
