Developers utilize the MeldRx platform, an ONC-certified FHIR-first backend service, enabling the construction of highly interoperable applications compliant with the HL7 FHIR standard. The core requirements mandate that submitted predictive AI apps must support decision-making (e.g., predictions, classifications, recommendations) based on algorithms or models (such as LLMs). Furthermore, the app must utilize the SMART on FHIR standard and leverage data in the FHIR R4 format for launching via EHR Launch or CDS Hooks. MeldRx facilitates this by providing FHIR workspaces for testing with personal data and enabling connections to other EHRs through MeldRx Linked Workspaces. This structure simplifies real-world validation and deployment, promoting both AI utilization and standardized interoperability in healthcare.
