Kimhae Life boosts global competitiveness of medical companies

The Kimhae Life Industry Promotion Institute (진흥원) utilized its interoperability test center, established through a platform for fostering non-face-to-face biomedical medical devices (led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy). The institute announced that it conducted testing using an HL7 FHIR standard-based PHD Validation tool on HiCareNet Co., Ltd., issuing the first certificate. Interoperability testing is a critical process to verify whether various devices and systems can communicate smoothly and function collaboratively in a medical environment. Adherence to international standards is particularly essential for domestic companies seeking to establish credibility when entering overseas markets. The Institute promotes global competitiveness by supporting local companies' products to comply with international standards through the test center. Furthermore, it began collaboration with HL7 Korea with the help of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) and signed an MOU. This ongoing cooperation is expected to further enhance the international reliability and credibility of the test results. The Institute plans to fully operate the center starting in 2025. By supporting companies to meet international certification standards from the early stages of product development, it aims to help them reduce market entry time and costs. This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to enhancing the global competitiveness of domestic medical device companies.
