Details

Director Li Jianzhang of the Ministry of Health and Welfare is an expert who previously worked extensively in smart healthcare at university hospitals. He has a proven track record, notably developing 'HoloXMed,' a technology that segments 2D CT images, reconstructs them into 3D, and projects them as holographic images, earning him the Edison Award gold prize. Since joining the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Information Department, Director Li has been promoting the integration of health, long-term care, and medical databases through a 'Next-Generation Medical Information System Plan.' He recognizes that 'SMART on FHIR' is the core technology of digital healthcare and believes it is essential for Taiwan's electronic health record development. Recognizing its importance, he proactively contacted Professor Ken Mandle of Boston Children's Hospital, one of the creators of FHIR. Director Li conveyed Taiwan's plan to fully promote this technical standard, which garnered support from Professor Mandle. He stated that this represents an excellent opportunity for Taiwan to establish the first electronic health record application ecosystem market outside the United States, positioning Taiwan at the pinnacle of global standards in the e-record revolution. This marks a significant step for Taiwan in the global e-record revolution.
