Specifically, CSIRO received $9.3 million (2023-24) and an additional $1.9 million (2024-25) to advance the development and adoption of national FHIR standards for healthcare data exchange. The Australian eHealth Research Centre (AEHRC), representing a consortium including the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DHDA), the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA), and HL7 Australia (HL7 AU), is leading this standard development through 'Sparked.' Sparked brings together stakeholders to collaboratively develop and support prioritized national FHIR standards.
