Summary

CommonWell Health Alliance announced its participation in and commitment to the newly announced CMS Interoperability Framework, aiming to become a CMS-Aligned Network. The organization plans to leverage its expertise in patient access and record matching to contribute to seamless nationwide data flow.

Details

The CommonWell platform supports easy and effective participation across over 20 types of care settings. Key capabilities include the CommonWell Individual Access Services (IAS), which is the technological driver for patient access and supports Identity Assurance Level 2 (IAL2). The CommonWell Master Person Index simplifies finding clinical records by using automation, simplification, and reliability to de-duplicate and merge patient records into a single, unique record. Furthermore, it provides industry-leading connectivity and security, supporting Cross-Community Access (XCA) or FHIR queries to Carequality and TEFCA. CommonWell has maintained HITRUST certification since 2019 and is one of only nine Qualified Health Information Networks® (QHIN®) in the U.S. The network facilitates federated exchange across more than 261 million unique individuals, having facilitated over 11 billion health care records to date.
