Indonesia has cemented its position as a center for digital health innovation in Asia, notably by becoming the world's first country to implement IntelliCare, an integrated EHR system utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI). This announcement was made at the Asia Healthcare Summit 2025 in Jakarta. The CEO of InterSystems emphasized that Southeast Asia is an innovation hub entering the AI era. The success in Indonesia is underpinned by a progressive ecosystem, including visionary government policies, increased private investment, and close collaboration between international expertise and local innovation. Technologically, InterSystems showcased its IRIS for Health platform, which can connect data from diverse systems in real-time and standardize it for AI and analytics without requiring the replacement of old infrastructure. This technology is compatible with global standards like HL7 FHIR and supports Indonesia's national SATUSEHAT initiative. A key highlight was EMC Healthcare being announced as the world's first hospital to use IntelliCare. The CEO stated that this AI-powered system allows medical staff to focus on patients while data flows safely and instantly, supporting accurate decision-making. InterSystems also introduced new capabilities like 'agentic AI,' which acts as an intelligent assistant for task planning and execution. The summit highlighted Indonesia's high digital maturity, with institutions like Pondok Indah Hospital Group achieving HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7. These achievements reinforce the Indonesian government's vision of a safe, inclusive, and patient-centric digital health ecosystem.
