The results ranked MEDITECH Expanse as the top EHR platform for community hospitals (under 150 beds), noting high scores in vendor reliability and implementation support, particularly strong loyalty from corporate health systems and regional chains. However, the survey also identified key areas for future improvement. Regarding interoperability, while many hospitals still rely on fax/manual data sharing, newer chain-affiliated clients are showing progress using Expanse's TEFCA/FHIR tools. On AI tool usage, only 18% of frontline clinicians report time savings, contrasting with the 71% of executives who remain confident in Expanse's AI roadmap. This suggests that while technical advancements (like FHIR) are occurring, optimizing workflow alignment and providing better training/integration is crucial for realizing true ROI. The findings emphasize that successful adoption requires not only advanced technology but also addressing human factors like process integration and user education.
