InterSystems, which manages over one billion electronic health records globally, announced a new partnership with Google Cloud at HLTH. The goal is to provide a harmonized, scalable, and real-time data foundation for generative and agentic artificial intelligence applications. The collaboration addresses the critical issue of 'data fragmentation and inconsistency' in healthcare IT. By combining InterSystems’ expertise—in data harmonization, identity resolution, and interoperability—with Google Cloud’s extensive suite of AI analytics and secure infrastructure, healthcare organizations can unlock the full potential of AI using clean, unified, and decision-useful data on an enterprise-grade cloud platform. Specifically, HealthShare provides functions for aggregation, normalization, de-duplication, patient identity resolution, and terminology mapping. Integrating this with Google Cloud Healthcare API enables clients to: 1. Create a scalable, harmonized database compatible with FHIR for research, operations, and clinical decision support (leveraging BigQuery). 2. Utilize advanced generative AI/agentic AI models, including the Gemini family, on Google Cloud's Vertex AI platform for decision support and automation. 3. Improve interoperability and security by leveraging Google Cloud’s cutting-edge security and compliance framework. This solution is available via a BYOL (Bring Your Own License) model and is expected to be accessible in North America by Q1 2026, followed by a global launch.
