AI Assistant Automates Medical Form Creation to Analytics Dataization

This article introduces the AI Assistant feature within Aidbox Forms. Traditionally, implementing a clinical form required multiple specialized teams and tools: encoding into FHIR, defining logic, building extraction pipelines, and flattening data for analysis. However, using the AI Assistant consolidates these steps in one place. Users simply describe the needed form in plain language, and the system generates an FHIR Questionnaire, sets up pre-fill logic from patient data, and defines extraction rules to transform responses into FHIR resources. Furthermore, it automatically creates a ViewDefinition for creating an analytics table, eliminating manual data reshaping. Technically, the AI Assistant uses FHIR SDC for form structure and validation, and standard language FHIRPath for data flow. Finally, the ViewDefinition flattens the nested response structure into an analysis-ready table, which can even be visualized (Vega-Lite) immediately. This integrated workflow reduces tasks that previously took weeks to minutes, dramatically improving the speed and accuracy of medical data utilization. Its significance lies not just in faster form creation but in shortening the entire cycle of maintaining continuous edits and ensuring analytical data consistency.
