CMS is exploring the shift from eCQMs to dQMs, utilizing HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources® (FHIR®), which serves as the next-generation standard for electronic healthcare data exchange. This initiative aims to enable standardized, electronic data sharing across clinical settings. The webinar will cover several key topics: an overview of the transition to dQMs using FHIR; an introduction to the Measure Authoring Development Integrated Environment (MADiE); a comparison between dQM and eCQM artifacts; test case examples, including CMS and CDC Hypoglycemic Reporting; and detailed information on the public comment period for dQMs. The target audience includes health IT developers/vendors, measure developers, implementers, and others interested in FHIR quality measurement. Attendees are expected to have prior knowledge of Health Level Seven International® and FHIR terminology. The event is scheduled for January 21, 2026, at 2pm ET.
