VectorCare Launches Open API 2.0 and Integrates with Bambi to Improve Healthcare Logistics

VectorCare has enabled non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) requests directly within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) using its “SMART on FHIR as a Service (SoFaaS™)”. This allows clinicians and case managers to request, track, and manage NEMT without leaving their native clinical workflow. The key development is the launch of Open API 2.0 and the integration with Bambi, the first NEMT platform to use it. This API creates a digital bridge that facilitates real-time, bidirectional data exchange—including GPS locations and timestamps—from the EHR directly to the transportation provider (Bambi). This eliminates manual data entry and brings transparency and data integrity to the entire patient movement process. For NEMT operators, the integration provides instantaneous trip intake and access to Bambi’s AI-driven dispatch engine. Furthermore, all data syncs back through Open API 2.0 to the EHR, establishing a “source of truth” that supports faster billing cycles and compliance adherence.
