HealthLX and Health Samurai Partner to Accelerate FHIR-Based Prior Authorization and ...
Summary
HealthLX announced a strategic partnership with Health Samurai, delivering an integrated interoperability platform designed to help payers and providers meet CMS regulatory requirements. The solution enables the use of FHIR-based APIs to address challenges in prior authorization workflows and data exchange.
Details
Through this strategic partnership, HealthLX combines its Custos interoperability platform with Health Samurai's Aidbox FHIR technology. This integrated solution helps payers comply with the CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule (CMS-0057-F). The rule mandates implementing additional interoperability APIs, including Provider Access, Payer-to-Payer, and Prior Authorization workflows, requiring full API readiness by January 1, 2027. The partnership provides specific capabilities: Health Samurai supplies the FHIR server and API infrastructure for standards-based data exchange. HealthLX Custos offers a managed, multi-tenant platform, an ingestion engine (Intake), and a compliance console (ConnectID). This enables healthcare organizations to rapidly achieve compliance with both 9115 and 0057 regulations. Beyond mere regulatory compliance, the joint solution aims to provide a long-term foundation for interoperability supporting diverse operational and clinical data exchange use cases. The announcement emphasizes that while FHIR is the right foundation, bridging the gap between standard adoption and operationalization is key.
