Details

eHealth Exchange announced receiving the 2026 Points of Light Award from KLAS Research. The award recognizes a multi-stakeholder effort involving organizations such as the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and MultiCare Connected Care. This initiative successfully implemented regulated FHIR application program interfaces (APIs) to facilitate Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) quality reporting. The collaboration involved exchanging HEDIS-relevant clinical data for over 5,000 patients using Bulk FHIR APIs. This significantly reduced reliance on manual chart reviews, accelerated data retrieval from weeks to minutes, and improved the completeness and usability of data for quality measurement. eHealth Exchange served as the interoperability backbone, providing a single-connection model that enabled secure routing, trust framework, identity/authorization infrastructure, and Bulk FHIR data exchange among participants. As one of the first designated Qualified Health Information Networks® (QHINs™) under the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement™ (TEFCA™), eHealth Exchange ensured alignment with technical requirements. This achievement builds on eHealth Exchange's leadership in advancing networked FHIR, following prior recognition for innovations in automated prior authorization and payer-provider data exchange.
