On May 12, 2026, Meierhofer and Tiplu publicly announced their strategic partnership at DMEA 2026 in Berlin. The goal of this collaboration is to utilize clinical data more effectively in daily care settings and support medical professionals through intelligent, seamlessly integrated decision support. The core of the cooperation involves integrating Tiplu's MAIA (Clinical Decision Support System) into Meierhofer's hospital information system, M-KIS. Both companies plan for a deep, seamless integration based on FHIR standards in the future. MAIA analyzes medical data such as documents, lab values, and vital signs, presenting them in a structured patient record. This enables support for physicians by providing: hints regarding potential undiagnosed diseases (differential diagnoses), risk predictions for clinical events like sepsis or falls, and transparent, patient-specific decision support. The software is certified as a Class IIa medical device and combines rule-based methods with machine learning models trained on extensive clinical data. A key feature is the traceability of results: all hints are derived individually for the patient and accompanied by medical justification. Furthermore, its FHIR-based architecture allows for standardized and interoperable integration into existing IT landscapes.
