Regarding specific technical aspects, they are promoting the adoption of electronic medical records across over 400 hospitals nationwide and adopting international standards such as FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) to ensure interoperability. This allows for secure sharing and utilization of healthcare data within a Zero Trust cybersecurity framework. Tangible results include the 'Family Physician Platform,' which uses AI-based risk prediction to support personalized care in chronic disease management. The MediCloud system provides real-time access to patient records and medication information, improving quality through AI-assisted medical imaging interpretation. Personal health management is also strengthened by platforms like 'My Health Bank,' encouraging data integration from wearable devices. Furthermore, for cancer treatment, Taiwan utilizes the FHIR standard to exchange Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, accelerating review processes. The promotion of virtual insurance cards, e-prescriptions, and telemedicine services overcomes temporal and geographical barriers. Taiwan has also established a comprehensive governance framework for clinical AI development, with 19 national medical AI centers overseeing responsible governance and validation. This has led to over 50 approved AI medical products supporting early cancer detection and cardiac event prediction. Additionally, they are advancing federated learning platforms, enabling cross-institutional and cross-border AI model validation without transferring sensitive data.
