Telstra Health announced Corus, a care intelligence ecosystem developed to tackle long-standing data fragmentation issues in Australian healthcare. At its core is 'Corus iX,' the interoperability and data exchange layer, which utilizes Smile Digital Health's FHIR-native health data platform. Corus aims to securely connect health information in near real time from diverse sources, including hospitals, primary care, aged care, diagnostics, and pharmacies. The system’s goal is not merely technical but structural: creating a world where 'health insight follows the person.' The development process involved frontline clinicians and advisors, leading to initial functions like Population Health, Care Navigation, and Care Coordination.
