Elsevier, a global academic publishing and information analytics company, acquired Wellsheet, a health technology company specializing in aggregating and synthesizing Electronic Health Record (EHR) data. The acquisition combines Wellsheet's EHR data tool with Elsevier’s ClinicalKey AI clinical decision support solution. Wellsheet's tool is noted for its ability to normalize and structure disparate clinical data across various EHR systems, connecting via APIs using standards like FHIR while remaining EHR-agnostic. This integration allows clinicians to access patient-specific guidance—including research and clinical practice guidelines from over 1,000 journals—directly within their existing EHR workflows.
