This integration is backed by a working integration utilizing the FHIR Observation resource. The core problem addressed is the structural mismatch in healthcare engineering: continuous streaming biosignal data from wearables versus episodic, FHIR-resource-shaped clinical workflow data used by EHRs. These two types of data require fundamentally different underlying infrastructures. In this joint architecture, AnyBio handles the continuous side—including Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) ingestion, real-time signal processing, and generating FHIR Observation resources with pre-mapped LOINC codes. Medplum manages the episodic side—providing FHIR-native resource storage, clinical workflow scaffolding, and necessary compliance stacks. The boundary between the two is the FHIR Observation resource, which AnyBio emits natively and Medplum consumes natively, eliminating proprietary translation layers. This joint framework allows developers to quickly build remote patient monitoring programs, transforming raw BLE data into clinically actionable EHR records—a process that traditionally takes 12 to 18 months. The integration is available today, allowing builders to configure FHIR Observation forwarding from AnyBio to any Medplum project through the AnyBio dashboard.
