SignalEDI's PA Bridge solution addresses this challenge by providing a translation layer between the Da Vinci PAS endpoints (FHIR format) and existing X12 278 rails. This allows healthcare providers and payers to meet modern FHIR compliance requirements while maintaining their established UM stacks (X12 278). Functionally, when a provider calls the API using FHIR, PA Bridge translates this request into a canonical internal model. The existing UM system then processes this data using its native X12 278 format. Finally, the decision is translated back out to the provider as a FHIR ClaimResponse. This approach eliminates the need for parallel gateway construction across multiple standards and aims to reduce operational burden during transition periods.
