Overview
SNOMED CT (Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine - Clinical Terms) is one of the largest clinical terminologies in the world, systematically representing diseases, findings, procedures, and tests in clinical medicine. It supports multilingual international interoperability.
Relationship with other standards
Combined with structural standards like FHIR, it is used to uniformly express the meaning of clinical information. While LOINC handles "measurement items", SNOMED CT covers "clinical concepts" in general.
